Genealogy Room Disaster

January 5, 2013 by lvonlanken

Oh my goodness, the genealogy room was going great – almost every surface has new paint on it.

My son was working on adding coats of thick, black magnetic paint to an area of my wall and I was on a chair touching up the edges of the ceiling paint. When I got off the chair, I stumbled and grabbed a table for balance and guess what was on the table….the can of black, magnetic paint!

My carpet now looks like a Holstein cow…..

On the bright side, it looks like there may be some new carpet in my future! On the downside, this is not an expense we need right now.

Not really genealogy worthy news, but I had to vent…

Oh, I’m sorry for your accident. I hope you’re okay after your fall! What a mess. And what an unhappy start for your new year. Take care.

Oh yes, I’m fine – just disappointed. I had planned to have furniture in the room tonight, but maybe this will motivate me to get the rest of the Christmas stuff into the attic. (Less to trip over that way! HA!)

I feel your pain. Everything seems to be breaking around our house at the moment with no money to fix anything. :(

I know just what you mean – when it rains it pours!

I hope you’re OK — until you have funds for new rug, it will make a great story. I suspect in the future you’ll laugh about this.

Thanks Erica, I have a little chuckle now and then – but them my backside starts to hurt…LOL!

Sorry about the mess…but you’ve now given me another idea for MY genealogy room :-) I have one, but hadn’t thought about the magnetic or chalkboard paint it.

It’s really different to know that this room is MINE and I can have anything that I want (as long as I can create it within my budget, of course!) I know that I probably wouldn’t have a magnetic wall in a “regular” room and I certainly wouldn’t choose the colors that I’ll have in this room! That’s probably one of the best things about having my own room!!
