Words cannot describe how much I miss doing regular genealogy research. Questions and thoughts on different family lines are constantly floating in the back of my mind, but I don’t usually have the time to do any REAL research. I remember reading about RootsTech last February and thinking to myself that SOMEHOW, I’d be going to the 2012 conference – and I am!
My husband and I decided that a break from my “real world” job would actually be a good thing, so I requested the time off as personal time and I’ve made all my reservations – and I AM EXCITED!
I am the technology coordinator for my school’s new 1-to-1 laptop program, so I just might come back with a cool idea or two that will integrate well into education, but that is NOT going to be my goal – a nice bonus maybe, but not a goal. My plan is to be 100% immersed in genealogy and finding ways to make the most of the limited research time that I currently have.
So the countdown begins! I’ll be getting on a flight to my “genealogy utopia” in exactly 80 days!

OK, so I’m reading my posts backward (ie most recent post first). So my question is answered. You ARE going to RootsTech. Yeah. The offer still stands. I’d love to meet up with you.
Oh yes! Let’s definitely make a plan to meet! Although I have no idea what to suggest…..thoughts?
I love your “Genealogy Utopia” phrase. That’s what it is to me, too, and I’ll be there. Hope we meet!
That would be so fun! Right now, it seems so far away, but I’m sure I just need to blink a couple of times and it will just about be here!
